Introduction
Vincent (1946) and Paul (1954) Langemeijer here, we’re second cousins with a shared interest in genealogy. Our main goal is to delve into and exchange information regarding the lineage of Johann Heinrich Schulte-Laggenbeck (1762), also known as Langemeyer, and his wife Anna Catharina Maria Elisabeth ten Brink (1754). They resided in a farmhouse named “der Langenhof” in Mettingen, Germany.

Why the name change to Langemeyer?
Anna Catharina was first married to Gerhard Heinrich Langemeyer (1747). They had three sons and a daughter. Sadly, Gerhard Heinrich passed away in 1784.

On May 24, 1785, Anna Catharina remarried Johann Heinrich Schulte-Laggenbeck, who was already working on their farm. He adopted the Langemeyer surname since they lived on the Langenhof farm, which was a common practice at that time. Together, they had six sons and four daughters. A story about the meaning of the name “Schulte” and “Meyer” (in Dutch).

The original family tree poster
Perhaps you still have the A0 family tree poster lying in a cardboard tube in your attic? It was drawn by Gerhard Theodor Langemeyer (1903). Here is a copy (redrawn by Marleen Langemeijer, Vincent’s wife). Click on the image to get a larger copy that you can download.
